Chief Minister Vijay's son Jason Sanjay's directorial debut Sigma, starring Sundeep Kishan in the lead role, is gearing up for its October 02 release in theatres. Ahead of the release, the team behind the film has announced that they have completed the censorship process for it. As a result, it has received a U/A 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in India. According to the certification-related information on the CBFC website, the film has a runtime of around 2 hours and 20 minutes. While the board updated the certification details on September 24, the makers only announced it on Tuesday with a caption saying that the film "is all set to ignite the screens."

Produced by Subaskaran under the Lyca Productions banner, Sigma was initially set for a July 31 release in theatres. However, the makers postponed the release at the time; according to reports, the change came as a result of their decision to avoid a clash between the film and Vijay's swan song Jana Nayagan, which was due for its release back then after a prolonged battle with the Censor Board.

Sigma also stars Faria Abdullah in the female lead, opposite Sundeep Kishan. The cast includes Raju Sundaram, Sampath Raj, Shiv Panditt, Anbu Thasan, Yog Japee, Magalakshmi, Sheela Rajkumar, Kamalesh, and Kiran Konda. The film has an additional screenplay by Kaleel Raja, Sanjeev S, and Ajaiy Ashok.

Billed as an "exciting new cinematic experience," the film's official storyline remains unknown as yet. However, according to reports, the film blends elements of heist, action, and comedy in a story that involves the universe of gambling and drugs.

On the technical front, the film has composer Thaman S, cinematographer Krishnan Vasant, editor Praveen KL, and so on. On the other hand, Venkat and Silva have handled the action sequences in the film.
