Actor Soori's film Mandaadi opened to positive reviews from initial audiences and critics on Thursday. A section of the audience has been commending the team behind the film for its technical work, especially a particular stunt sequence in the climax. Amidst the positive response for it, director Mathimaran Pugazhendhi's wife and Mandaadi lyricist Jayashree shared an emotional note on social media, reflecting on their long journey towards the release.

Taking to X, Jayashree Mathimaran wrote, "I’m still shivering, trying to understand and process what this day has been. The love you all showed for Mandaadi in the theatre was overwhelming. Every moment took me back to the days when we struggled together, stood by each other, and lived through every difficult phase as one. Those memories just kept flashing before my eyes. I cried. I clapped. I screamed my lungs out."

She added, referring to her husband and the film's director, "I hugged him. And somewhere in all that emotion, I felt incredibly proud. He is a true example of how patience, perseverance and faith can make you stronger and take you higher. Love you to the moon and back."

Jayashree Mathimaran also looked back at the challenging experience making the film. As reported earlier, the team faced production delays due to multiple challenges, including filming concerns. Recently, they encountered a roadblock as a production boat capsised, contributing to considerable equipment loss and a delay in filming. As Jayashree recalled, "We lived through the bad phases together… now, let’s live this success, happiness and every beautiful moment together."

She concluded her note, saying, "From struggling together to celebrating together, this one is deeply, deeply special."

Produced by Elred Kumar, the film also stars Suhas, Mahima Nambiar, Sathyaraj, Mithun Jai Sankar, Ravindravjay, Bala Saravanan, and Stun Siva, among others. It hit theatres alongside Karthi-PS Mithran's sequel to 2022's Sardar.
