Soori's long-awaited film Mandaadi, directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, hit theatres this Thursday. Much of the initial opinion about the film has been positive, with a section of the audience noting the boat sequence in the climax as one of its highlights. Amidst positive reports for the film, actors Sivakarthikeyan and Vishnu Vishal congratulated Soori and the rest of the team members behind it.
Taking to X, Sivakarthikeyan wrote, "Great reports for Mandaadi. Soori annan’s hard work, persistence and relentless dedication have truly paid off. Good content always wins big! Congrats, my dear annan, and the entire team, on the blockbuster success."
An actor known for his comedic roles in the initial parts of his career, Soori has been consistently doing important characters in Tamil cinema since 2023's Viduthalai Part 1, directed by Vetri Maaran. The actor starred with Sivakarthikeyan in several films, most notably 2013's Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam and 2022's Don. As actors, they last collaborated in 2022's Prince, although Sivakarthikeyan produced his co-star's 2024 film Kottukkaali.
Sivakarthikeyan also conveyed his "best wishes" to team Sardar 2, including lead actor Karthi and director PS Mithran.
Meanwhile, Vishnu Vishal congratulated Soori for his "consistency," underscoring the fact that it is "not easy" to maintain in the film industry. "Mandaadi.. Hearing good stuff...super happy," Vishnu added.
Besides Soori, the film stars Suhas, Mahima Nambiar, Sathyaraj, Mithun Jai Sankar, Ravindravjay, Bala Saravanan, and Stun Siva, among others. The film is produced by Elred Kumar, who also doubles up as its additional screenwriter alongside R Mohanavasanthan and Thiral Sankar.
On the technical front, it has music by GV Prakash, cinematography by SR Kathir, editing by Pradeep E Ragav, and production design by DRK Kiran. The stunts, which several reviews have been praising, are choreographed by Peter Hein, Dhilip Subbarayan, and Mahesh Mathew.
