It is said that a person with a good sense of humour also enjoys comedy when it comes from others, because they appreciate humour as a shared way of spreading joy. One of the best stars in Tamil cinema who excelled in comedy is Vijay. Many of his co-actors have also revealed that the superstar-turned-chief minister has a good sense of humour as well. Take his Jilla co-star Soori, for instance.

In a recent interview with Pearle Maaney, Soori appreciated Vijay's humour sense, saying he would laugh like a child on set at instances of humour. The actor also revealed that this characteristic of the superstar made it difficult to pull off certain scenes with him, citing one particular moment from Jilla as an example. "In Jilla, there is a scene where a boy pricks me from behind, and my character gives a certain reaction. Vijay could not act his part for that scene. The moment I gave the reaction, he would run away," Soori said, underscoring how humour got the better of his co-star.

The actor added, referring to Vijay, "He would say sorry and try to control his laughter, but to no avail." He also said that Vijay had an infectious energy on set and that the latter would make his co-stars comfortable when they faced fear of getting a take wrong.

Soori played a supporting role offering comedic relief in the 2014 film, directed by RT Neason and also starring Mohanlal. The actor is awaiting the September 10 release of his film Mandaadi, co-starring Suhas and Mahima Nambiar. The film's cast also includes Sathyaraj, Mithun Jai Sankar, Ravindravjay, Bala Saravanan, and Stun Siva. Written and directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, the film's technical team includes composer GV Prakash, cinematographer SR Kathir, editor Pradeep E Ragav, and production designer DRK Kiran.
