As the festival of lights is approaching, moviegoers have a lot of anticipation and excitement for a number of theatrical and film-related releases. Of the three Diwali releases, one is Nayanthara's Mookuthi Amman 2, helmed by Sundar C. The trailer has promised a grand devotional film, with a stellar cast.

On the other hand, fans of actor Silambarasan are eagerly awaiting an announcement from his ongoing film, Arasan. As per reports, a 7-minute video from the Vetri Maaran directorial, titled The World of Arasan, is expected to be unveiled on the day of the festival. Initially, fans anticipated the film's release for Diwali, but it has been pushed indefinitely.

Now, new speculations are rife that Nayanthara and Silambarasan are all set to reunite for a film. Reportedly, Keerthiswaran, who made his directorial debut with Dude, has signed Silambarasan for his sophomore. The actor is also said to don the cop's uniform for the upcoming film, which has rumouredly finalised Nayanthara as the female lead. However, an official confirmation from the film's makers is awaited.

If the reports are to be believed, the upcoming film will mark Silambarasan's reunion with Nayanthara 10 years after Pandiraaj's Idhu Namma Aalu. Before that, the two shared the screen in Vallavan, back in 2006. The film will also mark Silambarasan's second role as a police officer, after Osthe (2011). Shooting for the Silambarasan-Nayanthara-Keerthiswaran film is likely to begin in December.

Meanwhile, some other reports suggest that Keerthiswaran's sophomore marks the acting debut of Jason Sanjay, son of actor and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay. However, it is likely that Keerthiswaran will complete Silambarasan's film before taking on any other. Jason recently made his directorial debut with Sigma, starring Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah, which has now premiered on Netflix.
