Actor Saravanan is back as lawyer Sundaramoorthy in the second season of the series Sattamum Needhiyum, which has been released on ZEE5. In an exclusive conversation with Cinema Express, the actor said that the plot of Sattamum Needhiyum Season 2 mirrors his battle for justice in real life. He shared, “When Sattamum Needhiyum part two was being filmed, I went to court in my real life over an issue between me and my wife. If you ask me whether everyone would get justice from the court of law, truth be told, No. It did not seem like the judge was willing to listen to my side of the story,” the actor said. He added that the judge told him to offer 1 to 1.25 lakh per month as alimony to his wife, despite him offering his justification for separation from her.
Referring to it, the actor added, “There was nobody to listen to my side. Where else can I go to prove it?”
Saravanan shared that he could connect to Sattamum Needhiyum because of how much the story connects to his real life. He also noted that an appeal has been sent to a Chennai court in relation to his divorce case, and that his battle for justice in real life continues.
Coming back to Sattamum Needhiyum Season 2, it follows lawyer Chandra's (Varalaxmi Sarathkumar) pursuit of justice in relation to police officer Kanagavel's (Premkumar) death, which contributes to a clash between her and Sundaramoorthy (Saravanan). The second season brings back director Balaji Selvaraj and has earned better response from critics as compared to the first one. It also stars Kalloori Vinoth, Shivin, Kavitha Bharathy, Aaru Bala, and Peter J Chandran.
