With just three days left for the pre-release event of Suriya's Scene and about two weeks left for the film's release, anticipation for the film is at an all-time high. Fans have been decoding aspects about Suriya's character and the film's plot with theories, which have neither been acknowledged nor denied by the makers.
A popular theory circulating online was that Suriya is playing a blind police officer hunting the antagonist, portrayed by Naslen. After the film's writer, Dravid Selvam, exclusively revealed to CE that Suriya is not blind in the film, fans started theorising that Suriya suffers from prosopagnosia or face blindness, which makes it difficult for him to remember faces.
Now, the film's director, Jithu Madhavan, has revealed details about the film's plot. In an interview with Vikatan, he said, “A person who was once a senior police officer wants to file a case against someone who has been dismissed from the force, but he has no support. So, he forms a team of his own, comprising some rather unusual characters. None of them are normal, and even living together is a challenge for them. Making them work together to investigate a case is an even bigger challenge. The film revolves around this investigation and the amusing chaos that unfolds along the way. We wanted to tell a story that audiences could enjoy as a family entertainer, and we have tried to make it as entertaining as possible.”
Apart from Suriya and Naslen, Scene also stars Nazriya, Anandraj, Lal, and Raj Priyan. Suriya's 47th film, it marks Jithu Madhavan and Sushin Shyam's debut in Tamil cinema. It brings the Romancham (2023) and Aavesham (2024) filmmaker back together with the music director. So far, the audience has been singing praises of Sushin's music in the film, as the makers have unveiled two singles, 'Aathi Iva Yarraa' and 'Aeroplane'.
Produced by Suriya and his wife, Jyotika, through their Zhagaram Studios and 2D Entertainment banners, the upcoming film's technical team also includes cinematographer Vineeth Augustian, editor Ajmal Sabu, production designer Ashwini Kale, art director A Rajesh, and stunt choreographer Chethan D’Souza. The film will open in theatres alongside Nayanthara's Mookuthi Amman 2 and Ranbir Kapoor-Sai Pallavi's Ramayana: Part 1.
