Rajinikanth latest Jailer 2, directed by Nelson, which is having a solid run at the box office and recently crossed the ₹500-crore mark worldwide, has also brought a special personal first for Meghana Raj Sarja.

Sharing screen space alongside Rajinikanth and Shivarajkumar, Meghana paired opposite the Century Star for the first time, playing his wife in the sequel. Shivarajkumar reprises his crowd-favourite character Narasimha, whose explosive entry was one of the big highlights of the 2023 original. Despite growing up around the Kannada industry and knowing the family for years, this is the first project where Meghana and Shivarajkumar have shared a frame.

Following the film’s release on October 15, Meghana took to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes pictures from the shoot and spoke about what the experience meant to her.

“Jailer 2 has a very special connect with Karnataka, and getting an opportunity to act opposite our Shivanna was a blessing indeed,” she wrote. “Incidentally, this is my very first collaboration with Anna. The minute he walked in on the sets, I felt I was home! That is his aura! Having Geethakka on sets was such a pleasure!”

She also had warm words for stunt choreographer Chethan D’Souza, who designed the action blocks for the sequence. Chethan, known for his stunt work in big-ticket Kannada films like Max and Bhairathi Ranagal, posed with the crew and Rajinikanth in the photos.

Calling him "everybody's favourite," Meghana praised his temperament on set. “Sweetest, most charismatic and an extremely sensible stunt director! The highly praised action sequences were all this man's effort,” she noted.

For Meghana, the release carried an emotional touch as well, arriving right in the middle of October, close to the birthdays of her late husband Chiranjeevi Sarja and son Raayan. In an earlier note on working with Rajinikanth, she had called October 15 an unforgettable date, adding, “Some milestones come with a little extra emotion, and this will always be one of them.”
