Nayanthara is both a commoner and the divine incarnate in the trailer of Mookuthi Amman 2. The actor not only reprises her role as the Goddess in the second part but can also be seen as the protagonist, a police officer, attempting to fight villains, in the sequel.

On Wednesday, the makers of Nayanthara's Mookuthi Amman 2, sequel to her 2020 film of the same name, unveiled the film's trailer. Sundar C takes over directorial duties for the second part from RJ Balaji, who not only helmed but also headlined the first one.

The trailer establishes Regena Cassandrra and Duniya Vijay as mythical villains, descending on Earth to destroy it and become more powerful. Nayanthara is portrayed as a police officer who is also afraid of small things, like sleeping alone. When the lives of young children and common innocent folk are threatened, Mookuthi Amman is invoked, and Nayanthara fights these demons as both the Goddess and the scared cop. The trailer promises the usual visual grandeur of a Sundar C directorial.

Urvashi, Yogi Babu, Myna Nandini, Garuda Ram, Abhinaya, Shruthy S, Singapuli Annavi, VR Swaminathan, Sivakumar S, Sunil Varma Indukuri, Varshini Venkat, Pala Karuppiah, Ananda Adhista Lakshmi, Nitin Sathyaa, and Deblina Chaki round out the cast of Mookuthi Amman 2.

Hiphop Thamizha, a regular collaborator of Sundar C, is on board as the film's composer. The crew of Mookuthi Amman 2 includes director of photography Gopi Amarnath, editor Fenny Oliver, and stunt choreographer Rajasekar K. Venkatt Ragavan has written the screenplay and dialogues. Ishari K Ganesh has produced the film under his Vels Film International banner.

The film is gearing up to open in theatres on November 6, alongside Suriya's Scene in Tamil and Ramayana: Part 1, which is set for a pan-Indian release.
