Music director Anirudh is set to get married with Kavya Maran, who is the daughter of Sun Pictures owner Kalanithi Maran and the owner of the IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad. On Saturday, Sun News revealed that the composer and Kalanithi Maran and his wife Kavery Maran met Chief Minister Joseph Vijay and invited him for the wedding reception.

Meanwhile, Kalanithi Maran and his spouse also extended the invitation to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy by visiting him at his Jubilee Hills residence. Subsequently, the official X handle of the Telangana Chief Minister's Office also revealed that the Anirudh-Kavya Maran wedding reception will take place on November 21 in Chennai.

According to multiple reports, Anirudh and Kavya are set to tie the knot with a destination wedding on November 10 in Greece.

The latest developments come about a year after Anirudh denied the speculation about his marriage. In June last year, the composer wrote on X, "Marriage ah? lol .. Chill out guys. Please stop spreading rumours." However, dramatist and actor Y Gee Mahendra, who is also the composer's close family member, confirmed it in a conversation with KPTV this year.

The composer is fresh from the positive reviews he received for his work in director Nelson and superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer 2, and in DC, directed by Arun Matheswaran and starring Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead roles. Following the success of DC, Sun Pictures' Kalanithi Maran presented Anirudh, Lokesh and Arun each with a BMW car. This was not a one-off incident, as the producer had presented the composer with a similar gift in the past as well, such as for the success of 2023's Jailer. However, when it happened for DC, fans made fun of the tradition by saying that it was the producer's way of giving 'dowry' to his future son-in-law.
