All eyes are on director Nelson and veteran actor Rajinikanth as Jailer 2 is gearing up to open in theatres on Thursday, three years after the first film. With limited promotions and no audio launch, the expectation for the film is at an all-time high, especially after the success of Jailer.
In Jailer 2, Rajinikanth returns as 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian, alongside Ramya Krishnan, Mirnaa, Yogi Babu, with Jackie Shroff, Mohanlal, and Shivarajkumar reprising their cameo appearances. New additions to the ensemble cast include SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, Apeksha Porwal, Anna Rajan, Hakkim Shah, Bagavathi Perumal, Meghana Raj, Shamna Kasim, and Jatin Sarna. Further, Hrithik Roshan is also speculated to be part of the cast.
On Wednesday, with just a day left for the film's release, director Ashwath Marimuthu, who is now helming Rajinikanth in Dharman, shared his excitement. Taking to X, he wrote, "Waiting to see Aura farming on the big screen by the man of Aura himself tomorrow." Jailer 2 follows the Superstar's character, who must go back to his once-ruthless ways in order to keep his family safe and protect his legacy as a new underworld player threatens his peaceful existence.
On the technical front, Jailer 2 features music by Anirudh Ravichander, editing by R Nirmal and camera work by Vijay Kartik Kannan. The film is backed by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner.
Meanwhile, Dharman also stars Simran, Raashi Khanna, Yogi Babu, and reportedly Ram Pothineni in prominent roles. Rajinikanth plays the role of a "deadly doctor" in the film which is backed by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International. After Jailer 2 and Dharman, Rajinikanth is set to reunite with Kamal Haasan for KHxRK reunion, helmed by Nelson.
