Ever since Sun Pictures dropped the Jailer 2 trailer on Monday, there has been much discourse around the identity of a female character in the film. The actor is Apeksha Porwal, and she knows that the internet is abuzz about her appearance in the trailer for the film, featuring a massive ensemble cast, led by Rajinikanth. On Tuesday, the actor took to social media and wrote, "Since it's everywhere anyway.. Did you catch your girl in the trailer of Jailer 2 yet?"
In the trailer, Apeksha can be seen toting a gun and pulling off some eye-catching stunts. She is one of the two runners-up in the 2017 beauty pageant Miss Diva and the 2015 Miss India winner. She is also a trained martial artist trained in nunchucks and kickboxing.
While Apeksha Porwal herself had revealed her involvement in the Jailer sequence back in November 2025 with a note of gratitude on social media, it is only the film's trailer that piqued netizens' curiosity around her role. The upcoming film marks her debut in Tamil cinema, but she has already made her acting debut with a role in the web series Undekhi. Apeksha Porwal's credits also include the MBC Shahid title Slave Market and the JioHotstar series Honeymoon Photographer.
Coming back to Jailer 2, director Nelson's upcoming film also brings back the 2023 original's cast Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Shivarajkumar, Mirnaa, Jaffer Sadiq, Mohanlal, and Vinayakan. Besides Apeksha, the new cast members in the franchise are SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Mithun Chakraborty, Vijay Sethupathi, Vidya Balan, Anna Rajan, Hakkim Shah, Bagavathi Perumal, Meghana Raj, Shamna Kasim, and Jatin Sarna.
The upcoming film's technical team includes music director Anirudh, cinematographer Vijay Karthik Kannan, R Nirmal, art director DRK Kiran, costume designers Pallavi Singh and Muthul Hafeez, and stunt director Chethan D'Souza. The film is slated for an October 15 release.
