Sivakarthikeyan is one of the prominent young stars in Tamil cinema today. The actor is working on Seyon, directed by Sivakumar Murugesan, right now. Recently, the actor made some interesting comments about his career and stardom during an event where he met his fans. At one point of his speech, Sivakarthikeyan recalled an incident where a producer visited him on a set and questioned whether he could stay long enough in the film industry.
The actor said that the producer told him to focus on his work instead of his fans. "He told me, 'This fan craze will only last for a while. They will not be there with you forever.' However, I told him that they would always support me," Sivakarthikeyan said, much to the delight of his admirers. In response to the actor's statement, the producer told him, 'They might be with you, but will you be around for that? Keep that in mind.'
Sivakarthikeyan then greeted and thanked his fans who assembled there for the event from different parts of the state in a way that served as a subtle response to his past detractors. At the same event, Sivakarthikeyan said that he is "a people-made star" and not "a self-made" one. He added that Seyon would only have a Pongal 2027 release in theatres rather than the initially promised Diwali premiere.
Seyon brings Sivakarthikeyan back together with Sivakumar Murugesan, whose debut film Thaai Kizhavi the actor produced through his eponymous banner. Also starring Raj B Shetty, Bhagyashri Borse, Seeman, Bala Saravanan, Arul Doss, and Singampuli, the film is produced by Kamal Haasan through his Raaj Kamal Films International banner.
The actor is also expected to reunite with his Don filmmaker Cibi Chakaravarthi for another film. It was expected that he would come back together with director Venkat Prabhu for one more film after his cameo appearance in the filmmaker's 2024 film The Greatest of All Time, starring Vijay, but the project has been shelved.
