Actor Suriya, who has had two successful releases this year with Karuppu and Vishwanath and Sons, is gearing up for a hattrick with Scene, helmed by Jithu Madhavan. Also starring Nazriya and Naslen, the film is gearing up to open in theatres for Deepavali.

At the Hyderabad pre-release event of the upcoming film, Suriya teased the possibility of a spin-off, Rolex, a standalone film based on the titular character who was first introduced in Kamal Haasan's Vikram. Suriya's cameo as Rolex came as a pleasant surprise in the epilogue of the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial, as the actor portrayed a ruthless villain, extremely contrasting to his usual hero demeanour.

Speaking about the possibility of the film happening, Suriya said, "We are still talking about the Rolex film. The film is currently being processed. Please ask Loki [Lokesh Kanagaraj] to call me. Please ask him to come and meet me, and we will make it happen."

Further, he also teased about playing an antagonist in the spin-off. "Do you want me to play as a hero or villain?" he asked before being quick to add, "Villain is better. I've done many hero roles. One villain; we'll do it."

Jithu's third directorial and Tamil debut, Scene, stars Suriya as DSP Inbaraj and Nazriya as Maya. Naslen plays a psychopath, Eshwaran, in the film, also marking his Tamil debut. Rajpriyan, Anandraj, and Lal also star in pivotal roles in the upcoming film. The film marks Nazriya's comeback to Tamil cinema after 12 years and Naslen's Tamil debut, along with that of Jithu.

Produced by Suriya and Jyotika under the banners of Zhagaram Studios and 2D Entertainment, the upcoming film has Tamil dialogues written by Dravid Selvam. Scene has music by Sushin Shyam, a frequent collaborator of Jithu Madhavan. The technical team for the film also includes cinematographer Vineeth Augustian, editor Ajmal Sabu, production designer Ashwini Kale, action choreographer Chethan D’Souza, and art director A Rajesh.

Nazriya's brother Naveen Nazim is also part of the film's direction team for Jithu, in addition to Abhi Easwar, Faisal Muhammed, Amal Sunny, Jithin Gopu, Manju Krishnan, and Suresh Mathiyalagan. The film opens in theatres alongside Nayanthara's Mookuthi Amman 2 in Tamil.
