Actor Arjun is fresh from the success of his recent outing in theatres, Blast. Helmed by Subash K Raj, the film also stars Abhirami and Preity Mukhundhan as Arjun's wife and daughter, respectively.

The film hit theatres on Thursday and opened to positive reviews. Following a visit to the theatres for a show, Arjun addressed the press, where he spoke about Sanatana Dharma, amidst the remarks of the leader of the opposition, Udhayanidhi Stalin.

"Sanatana Dharma is not a religion. It is a way of life. It teaches various lessons, like why it is wrong to steal and why we should not wish for another person's possessions. Santana Dharma also teaches us that just as parents took good care of us as children, we must take care of them when they get old. If Sanatana Dharma should not exist, you must chase your parents away from your house. Is that possible?" he said.

While Udhayanidhi's comments on Sanatana Dharma have been a matter of contention for a long time now, his recent repetition of the remarks at the newly formed Tamil Nadu state assembly, with Vijay as the chief minister, has evoked more debates upon the topic, with many voicing out against the remarks.

Arjun's comments do not come as a surprise, as the actor-director has repeatedly established his belief in Hinduism, being an ardent devotee of Hanuman. In fact, the actor has also built a Hanuman temple in Gerugambakkam, Chennai.

Blast revolves around a karate-trained family who are caught in the hands of a powerful evil. The film's plotline reads, "A family trained to protect the powerless becomes the most dangerous obstacle of all." Blast also stars Vivek Prasanna, John Kokken, Arjun Chidambaram, Pawan, Dileepan, Vinod Sagar, and Bala Hasan R in important roles.
