Actor Arjun Sarja, who last helmed Seetha Payanam, is currently gearing up for the release of Blast. Helmed by Subash K Raj, the film also stars Abhirami and Preity Mukhundhan in lead roles.

In a recent interview with Behindwoods promoting the film, the actor-director was asked about his meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay. He was further questioned about his political aspirations.

On whether he sees a career for himself in politics, he said, "You need at least some political knowledge to step into that field; one cannot be completely unaware of politics." However, Arjun still wants to do virtuous activities for the common people. He said, "I may not have that knowledge, but I do have the desire to help people. That’s why I chose to do charity and other good work without entering politics."

When asked about his fellow actor, Prakash Raj, who is always actively opining on political happenings, Arjun said, "I have no comments about Prakash Raj." When it came to CM Vijay, though, he had words of praise. "Most importantly, a politician should have the intention to do good. Knowledge can always be acquired over time. According to me, Vijay has that intention," he explained.

Blast also stars Vivek Prasanna, John Kokken, Arjun Chidambaram, Pawan, Dileepan, Vinod Sagar, and Bala Hasan R in important roles. The film will feature the trio as an underrated middle-class family with martial arts skills, crossing paths with a ruthless gang and doing everything in their power to protect themselves.

Composer Ravi Basrur, prominently known for his music in the KGF films, is all set to make his Tamil debut with this new project. The rest of the technical team includes cinematography by Arun Radhakrishnan, editing by Pradeep E Ragav, and art direction by Veeramani Ganesan. Archana Kalpathi and Aishwarya Kalpathi serve as creative producer and associate creative producer, respectively. Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh, and Kalpathi S Suresh are producing the film for AGS Entertainment.
