With just a few days to go for the release of Arjun-Abhirami-Preity Mukhundhan's Blast, the cast and crew have been on a promotional spree, talking to media from various states and sharing their thoughts and experiences about working on the action film. Arjun, who last directed Seetha Payanam, has now expressed his interest to work with Dhurandhar director Aditya Dhar.
In a recent interview, the Leo actor said, "After a long time, I felt that I have to work with the director who made Dhurandhar 1 and 2. It shares similarities with the movies that I do. It has deep patriotism, and has been written and crafted for the big screen in a unique, contemporary and unique way."
He further stated that he loved Ranveer Singh and Madhavan's performances in it. "Madhavan's character is a hero in the film. Ajit (Doval) is India's hero," he remarked.
For the unversed, Dhurandhar, a spy-action thriller released in theatres last year and opened to massive commercial success at the box office, earning over Rs 1000 crore worldwide. Its sequel, released earlier this year too garnered positive critical and commercial responses and achieved over Rs 1,850 crore globally, becoming the second-highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
Meanwhile, Arjun's upcoming film Blast has been directed by debutant Subash K Raj. It also stars Vivek Prasanna, John Kokken, Arjun Chidambaram, Pawan, Dileepan, Vinod Sagar, and Bala Hasan R in important roles. The film's plotline reads, "A family trained to protect the powerless becomes the most dangerous obstacle of all."
Blast is set for release in theatres on May 28.
