Abhinaya to play psychologically disturbed mother in Irattaiyar; release date out

Abhinaya stars as the mother of twin girls in Irattaiyar, a psychological thriller helmed by debutant director Jagdish

Nadodigal-fame Abhinaya, who was last seen in Carmeni Selvam, is gearing up for the release of her next, Irattaiyar. On Monday, the film's makers announced that the film will open in theatres on June 5. The film marks the directorial debut of Jagdish.

As per the official press note from the makers, the film is a psychological thriller revolving around the bond between a mother and her twin daughters. An accident causes the life of their father, while their mother, Abhinaya, ends up with a disfigured face. Following her return home after plastic surgery, she starts exhibiting strange behaviour that affects the lives of the twin girls.

A poster of the film features an angry Abhinaya trying to open a garage door, with the twins on the other side putting all their effort into closing it. In another poster she is seen sitting with rage having tied up the twins. Anumitha and Anushitha play the twins in the film. Subramaniya Siva and Sangeetha also play important roles.

Irattaiyar has been shot within a 21-day schedule across Thittakudi and Kodaikanal. The film is currently in post-production. The film is produced by Rajeswari Lakshminarayanan and Vinodh Kannan under the banner of Asia Iconic Studios and co-produced by Hariharan.

On the technical front, the film will feature camera work by Mohamed Ameen, music composed by GKV and editing by Easwara Moorthy. Bala Bharathi has penned the dialogues. Upon its release, the film will clash with Jayaram-Urvashi's Parimala and Co in theatres.

Meanwhile, Abhinaya recently came onboard Selvaraghavan's next, helmed by Sriikanth Hunsur. She will next be seen in Sundar C's Mookuthi Amman 2 alongside Nayanthara, Regena Cassandrra and Duniya Vijay, among others. In the pipeline, she also has Demonte Colony 3, helmed by Ajay Gnanamuthu.
