Actor Abhirami, last seen in Indian Penal Law, is gearing up for the release of her next, Blast. She stars alongside Arjun and Preity Mukhundhan in a lead role in the Subash K Raj directorial, set to hit theatres on May 28.

The film, backed by AGS Entertainment, is billed to be an action drama. In a video unveiled by the producers, Abhirami is seen detailing her experience performing action sequences in the upcoming film.

“Only after completing this film did I truly realise how challenging stunt performances are. After shooting action sequences for two or three days continuously, I even told the director, ‘Please give me pages of dialogues or intense emotional scenes instead – but spare me the action portions,’ because they were that demanding," she explained.

However, Abhirami still found the challenge interesting. "We underwent dedicated training and extensive rehearsals to perfect the stunt sequences. Hitting someone on screen may look easy, but performing it convincingly without actually hurting the other person is extremely difficult. It was a challenging yet exciting learning experience.”

Blast also stars Vivek Prasanna, John Kokken, Arjun Chidambaram, Pawan, Dileepan, Vinod Sagar, and Bala Hasan R in important roles. The film will feature the trio as an underrated middle-class family with martial arts skills, crossing paths with a ruthless gang and doing everything in their power to protect themselves.

Composer Ravi Basrur, prominently known for his music in the KGF films, is all set to make his Tamil debut with this new project. The rest of the technical team includes cinematography by Arun Radhakrishnan, editing by Pradeep E Ragav, and art direction by Veeramani Ganesan. Archana Kalpathi and Aishwarya Kalpathi serve as creative producer and associate creative producer, respectively. Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh, and Kalpathi S Suresh are producing the film for AGS Entertainment.
