Days after actor-turned-politician Vijay took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, actors and several members of the film fraternity have been making a beeline to visit him and share their wishes.

On Wednesday, members of the South Indian Film Writers’ Association, led by veteran actor-director K Bhagyaraj met Vijay and shared pictures from their meeting. Post the conversation, Bhagyaraj wrote, "Today, all members of the South Indian Film Writers’ Association met our Chief Minister, Thalapathy Vijay, who has emerged as a new ray of hope through the support of the people of Tamil Nadu. It was an emotional and joyous moment to greet him." He further mentioned that he quoted lines from the iconic song 'Neenga Nalla Irukkanum' from former late CM MG Ramachandran's 1975 film Idhayakkani while wishing him for a successful tenure. The lyrics for the first two lines translate to, "May you stay well, may the nation progress, and may the lives of the poor in this country improve."

Earlier, representatives of the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) and the Tamil Film Active Producers Association (TFAPA) met with the CM. The latter presented a cheque for Rs 10 lakh to the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund. Actors Arjun, and Shanthnu also met him on Tuesday. Filmmaker Venkat Prabhu also called on the CM and presented a numberplate TN-07-CM-2026, from their 2024 spy thriller, GOAT, a reference to Vijay's political aspirations at that time.

Prior to this, actor and Member of Parliament Kamal Haasan, met with CM Vijay, and presented him with a list of requests on behalf of the film industry. He said that he has officially made six important demands to the CM that emphasise that "the Tamil Nadu government’s support and embracement are essential for the Tamil film industry, which is facing various obstacles."
