Vijay has been having many visitors after he has assumed office as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The latest to visit him is actor Kamal Haasan, whose party Makkal Needhi Maiam allied with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. Kamal shared pictures on social media featuring him with the Tamil Nadu CM and wrote a few words about the meeting. "Today, I met in person with the Honorable Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Brother Vijay, and conveyed my best wishes. He enthusiastically shared many dreams for the betterment of Tamil Nadu. The humility and affection he displayed during the meeting filled me with pride."
Kamal Haasan also said that he has officially made six important demands to the CM that emphasise that "the Tamil Nadu government’s support and embracement are essential for the Tamil film industry, which is facing various obstacles."
He ended his post expressing hope for good governance from Vijay and his team of administrators. "May goodness flourish," the legendary actor wrote.
Earlier, when Vijay became the CM, too, Kamal conveyed his wishes to him and expressed his hope for a prosperous governance from the superstar-turned-CM through social media. He also told reporters that Vijay should not be viewed as just an actor any longer. "He has other responsibilities. A chief minister could come from any walk of life. I am proud that he has come from the film industry," Kamal said at the time.
Notably, during his latest meeting, Kamal also presented Vijay with the book 'Gandhi Before India' written by historian Ramachandra Guha. It is also worth noting that Kamal's meeting with the CM came shortly after he met former Chief Minister and DMK leader MK Stalin and opposition leader Udhayanidhi Stalin at their Chennai-based residence.
