According to a report by DiscussingFilm, Obsession filmmaker Curry Barker has made his next, tiled Anything But Ghosts, which is also a horror film. While Obsession has had its world premiere and received much critical appreciation and is set to release on May 29 in India, the storyline of Barker's next film has caught the attention of netizens.

Reportedly, the film's story revolves around two con artists who are into ghost hunting business. However, following an encounter with a paranormal entity, their fake business turns chaotic. The film stars Aaron Paul, Bryce Dallas Howard and Violet McGraw.

Director Venkat Prabhu quote tweeted the post citing the storyline. "Hey wow!!! Have seen a similar film with a similar concept," the filmmaker wrote while tagging actor-producer Suriya and producer Gnanavel Raja. Venkat Prabhu was, of course, referring to his 2015 film, Massu Engira Masilamani, starring Suriya in the lead role.

Massu Engira Masilamani follows a man (Suriya) who comes out of an accident and gains the ability to communicate with those who have already died, making him wonder whether he should consider their advice while making decisions.

A user alleged that Venkat Prabhu plagiarised the Suriya starrer from the Korean comedy Hello Ghost. In his quirky response to the user, the filmmaker admitted that he would have made Massu Engira Masilamani in a better way if he had watched the Korean film.

On Thursday, the filmmaker expressed his support for Suriya and Karuppu team after a delay in its release. "Karuppu deserves to be experienced on the big screen. Hoping everything falls into place soon and audiences get to celebrate the film in theatres the way it truly deserves. God is there," Venkat Prabhu wrote. In response, Suriya said, "Belief is life itself. Thanks."
