'Rangreza' is composers Rahman and Ranjan's newly commissioned composition. Performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and London Voices, along with Associate Artist Abi Sampa, the piece is based in Sufi music and explored the musical and spiritual language shared by different cultures.
Rahman performed the composition recently for the first time at London's iconic venue Royal Albert Hall. An orchestral showcase spanning three nights, it was assembled emerging and international-level musicians for a production that blended Indian with Western classical music traditions.
AR Rahman last composed for Dhanush-Aanand L Rai's Tere Ishk Mein. Up next, he has a long list of projects in his kitty including Ram Charan's Peddi, Prabhu Deva's Moon Walk, Namit Malhotra's Ramayana: Part 1 and 2, Ravi Mohan's Genie, Dhanush's D56 and the untitled Vijay Sethupathi-Sai Pallavi film from Mani Ratnam.
