Following Parasakthi, Sivakarthikeyan was set to collaborate with Venkat Prabhu for a film, which was initially titled, tentatively, as SK26. However, as the actor-producer commenced filming for Seyon, helmed by Sivakumar Murugesan, the film with Venkat Prabhu was rumoured to be shelved.

The film had Sathya Jothi Films as the producer. Thiagarajan of the production banner has now confirmed that the project is very much in development and that it is facing delays due to changes in scripting.

Venkat Prabhu: Project with Sivakarthikeyan will be a fun film

Speaking to Cinema Vikatan, he said, "We're yet to finalise the final script for the Sivakarthikeyan-Venkat Prabhu film. I read the script thoroughly and felt the need for something to be added in the second half. Sivakarthikeyan also felt the same, and Venkat Prabhu needed time to make the changes. The project is very much under development, and the pre-production process is going on."

Furthermore, Sathya Jothi Films has never worked with AR Rahman in the past. The producer confirmed that they're in talks to rope in the Roja composer for the film. "We've always wanted to collaborate with AR Rahman sir, but somehow it has never materialised. We've planned to rope him for this film," he revealed.

If talks materialise, this will be the first time AR Rahman will compose for a Venkat Prabhu directorial. The latter has mostly had his cousin brother, Yuvan Shankar Raja, and his brother, Premgi Amaren, compose for his films. AR Rahman has, however, composed for Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan, making this their sophomore collaboration.

Previously, Ramya Nambessan was confirmed as being a part of the cast of the Sivakarthikeyan-Venkat Prabhu film by resharing speculative news about the same. The makers are yet to announce details about the female lead and other cast members, although Kalyani Priyadarshan and Bhagyashri Borse were speculated earlier. The film may no longer be referred to as SK26, as Seyon is scheduled for release in October this year, marking Sivakarthikeyan's 26th.

Bhagyashri Borse to be a part of Sivakarthikeyan’s Seyon?

We had earlier reported last December that Venkat Prabhu was headed to Los Angeles to craft Sivakarthikeyan's look and the VFX of the film. According to reports, the film is said to be a sci-fi entertainer crafted with a huge budget and will see the actor playing two different roles in the film.

Venkat Prabhu, in an appearance at an award show earlier this year, revealed that this film will have Sivakarthikeyan playing a different character from other films in his career and added that it will be a fun project loved by all sections of the audience.

Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan is currently filming for Seyon, backed by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International. Sivakarthikeyan was recently seen in the Sudha Kongara directorial Parasakthi, which marked his 25th outing.
