The Vijay Sethupathi led, web series Muthu Engira Kaattaan is on path for its premiere on March 27, on Jio Hotstar. In an exclusive interview with CE, actor Vadivel Murugesan shared an anecdote, where he recalled the time when Vijay Sethupathi appreciated him on the set of Muthu Engira Kaattaan set.

When Vadivel was asked if he got a chance to share screen presence with Vijay Sethupathi, he shared, “I didn’t get a chance to share screen presence with him, but he is a genuine person. When it comes to showing appreciation, Vijay Sethupathi is like Rajinikanth. He appreciated me by saying, 'I heard that you write stories well, it’s good for an actor to have a writing sense/skills, as it helps them significantly. Keep developing those skills.'”

The actor was asked how he thinks audiences will cope with the film’s length, given their short attention span these days. He answered, “Film duration doesn’t matter. If the story is interesting, then the audience will watch the movie, so it's all about what  message we are delivering and how it is being delivered to the audience. I don’t believe that duration will be an issue. Take Thaai Kizhavi, for example, it's a two-and-a-half-hour movie, but it doesn’t feel lengthy at any point, and the audience truly appreciated it."

Muthu Engira Kaattaan, helmed by M Manikandan and co-directed by editor B Ajith Kumar. The film also stars Milind Soman, Sudev Nair, Vadivel Murugan, Risha, VJ Parvathy, Kalaivani Bhaskar, Muthukumar, and Abi Nakshatra, with music composed by Rajesh Murugesan.
