Rajinikanth's upcoming lineup of films are a host of entertainers, with directors like Nelson and Cibi Chakravarthi, in the director's chair. After his immediate next film, Jailer 2, the actor is set to work with Cibi on Thalaivar 173, which is produced by Kamal Haasan.

Reports are emerging that pre-production on Cibi's upcoming directorial are ramping up, with the director now working on the actor's look. Director Cibi is said to be in midst of designing the look of Rajinikanth's character, which is said to be 83 in number.

Among them, three is said to be finalised, after which it will be presented to Rajinikanth for confirmation.

The announcement video hinted at the story being an action film, with tailors and the world of fashion being a part of the film's story.

While the rest of the cast and crew details of Thalaivar 173 are yet to be revealed, Anirudh will compose music for it, with a release planned for Pongal 2027.

Apart from Thalaivar 173, Rajinikanth will also reunite with Kamal on screen after 42 years, on an upcoming film which is produced by Kamal. Nelson will direct the project, with Anirudh composing the music.
