Recently, we reported about Amazon potentially taking legal action against Jana Nayagan's producer KVN Productions following the postponement of the film's release, owning to a delay in its censorship clearance. The latest speculation about the film is that Amazon's streaming platform Prime Video has backed out of its commitment to stream the film after its theatrical release.

According to reports, Prime Video bought the streaming rights of Vijay's final film for 121 crore. The team behind the digital platform expected that it would have a timely release and would be available for them to stream in the first week of February. However, the film still faces uncertainty over its release due to censorship hassles. Reportedly, the Board's revising committee recently postponed its decision to screen the film for censorship purpose owing to sickness of a committee member, causing further uncertainty over its release.

The latest reports about Prime Video relinquishing the film's streaming rights comes amidst the information about its censorship. Reportedly, the film's producer has confirmed the latest news to multiple channels. According to them, the prolonged delay of the film is the reason for the streaming platform's decision.

Speaking of which, recently, a Canadian distributor revealed that the film would not hit theatres until April 30. Rumours are rife that it would be delayed until June, partly due to the Assembly Election in Tamil Nadu. It is worth noting that Vijay is campaigning for Chief Minister's post in the state through his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, also known as TVK.

Coming back to the streaming deal, if the reports are anything to go by, it is not good news for KVN Productions because of the high budget for the film. Reportedly, the film has been made on a budget of over 400 crore. Meanwhile, audiences, including Vijay fans, say that the situation over the film's streaming is Amazon's loss and not Vijay's.
