Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is heading towards a strong worldwide opening, with advance bookings indicating solid interest across India and overseas. The film has already crossed ₹17 crore in advance booking collections in Karnataka, while several shows in Bengaluru are nearing full capacity.
On BookMyShow, Toxic has sold more than 6.83 lakh tickets, placing it seventh on the platform’s all-time top 10 advance-sales list. It is ahead of Kalki 2898 AD, which recorded 6.59 lakh tickets, and Jailer, with 6.36 lakh. The list is currently led by Coolie with 13.4 lakh tickets, followed by Leo with 12.8 lakh, Pushpa 2 with 11.7 lakh, Dhurandhar 2 with 11 lakh, L2: Empuraan with 9.99 lakh and Jawan with 8.16 lakh. With bookings still open, Toxic could climb further up the list.
The film is also recording strong numbers across the national multiplex chains. PVR has recorded around ₹7.90 crore gross from more than 1,700 shows, while INOX has reported around ₹5.40 crore and Cinepolis approximately ₹1.85 crore in advance sales. The Hindi version is also contributing to the numbers, with more than 80,000 tickets sold across national multiplexes. The overall advance ticket value is reported to be around ₹33 crore, while the Hindi version is expected to cross ₹40 crore on its first day if the current trend continues.
The overseas market is adding to the numbers. In the UK, Toxic is set to release across more than 400 screens, giving it one of the widest releases for an Indian film in the market. In the US, the film has reportedly collected $292,541 from 362 theatres and 873 shows, with more than 13,000 tickets sold. The Kannada and Telugu versions are seeing strong demand in the US market.
With these numbers coming in ahead of release, attention now shifts to the first day. If the advance-booking trend translates into strong theatre occupancy, Toxic could be heading towards a ₹100 crore worldwide opening.
For Yash, who significantly expanded his market with the KGF films, another major opening would further indicate the reach he has built beyond Karnataka. The advance sales have set up strong expectations. The first day will reveal whether Toxic can turn that momentum into a new box-office record.
