Thaai Kizhavi is marching ahead strongly and has knocked off its first milestone at the global box office by minting over Rs 50 crore in just ten days of its release. Directed by debutant Sivakumar Murugesan, the comedy drama, headlined by Radikaa Sarathkumar, was released in theatres on February 27 to overwhelmingly positive reviews from audiences and critics.

After nearly two weeks at the box office, the film’s total earnings across India have surpassed Rs 43 crore, including Rs 2.5 crore collected on Monday. Over the past two weekends, Thaai Kizhavi has consistently earned more than Rs 12 crore, indicating a strong response from family audiences.

The film follows the story of a family who scrambles to find a hidden treasure after the matriarch Pavunuthaayi (Radikaa) gets afflicted by an illness. Thaai Kizhavi also stars Singam Puli, Arul Doss, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth, Ilavarasu, George Maryan, Muthukumar, Raichal Rabecca, among others.

An excerpt from our CE review of the film reads, "What really keeps the film ticking is giving each of the principal characters a great scene, and the dialogues that has such authenticity that even when the film ventures into preachy territory, we never flinch. Sivakumar isn’t interested in this kind of theatrics. However, it doesn’t stop him from giving his characters a monologue or two to establish the film's moral compass."

In addition to Radikaa, Thaai Kizhavi also stars Singam Puli, Arul Doss, Munishkanth, Bala Saravanan, Ilavarasu, Muthukumar, George Maryan, and Raichal Rabecca. The film is produced by Sudhan Sundaram's Passion Studios and presented by Sivakarthikeyan's SK Productions.

On the technical front, the film features music by Nivas K Prasanna, cinematography by Vivek Vijayakumar, and editing by San Lokesh.
