Santhanam, who was last seen in DD Next Level, has signed his next. Set to be his 20th film as the lead, the film, tentatively titled Santa 20, will be directed by debutant Sudhaman Krishna.

Billed as a time loop-based detective thriller, Santa 20 is expected to blend sci-fi elements with humour and mystery. The film was launched with a customary pooja ceremony recently and production is currently underway.

Besides Santhanam, the film stars Gopika Ramesh, known for her roles in Suzhal and Sweetheart!, as the female lead. Santhanam's frequent collaborator Redin Kingsley, along with Jenson Diwakar, Pradeep Antony, George Maryan, Fouzee, TSR and others form the supporting cast.

This is not the first time Santhanam has ventured into the sci-fi comedy genre as he has previously headlined Dikkiloona, directed by Karthik Yogi in 2021 which had elements of time travel driving the narrative forward.

On the technical team, the film has cinematography by Richard M Nathan and music by Nivas K Prasanna. Santa 20 is produced by KJ Ganesh of Venus Infotainment and Vijay K Celliah under K7 Studios.
