It is well known that Raghava Lawrence is working on his much-awaited directorial, Kanchana 4, the fifth instalment in the Kanchana horror film series. Production began in September is currently on-going and the makers had announced the leading cast members recently.

Besides starring in the film's lead role and producing it, Raghava Lawrence is also directing it from his own screenplay. Kanchana 4 also stars Pooja Hegde, Nora Fatehi, Swaksha Iyer, Devadarshini and Kamalesh Jagan. It marks Nora's Tamil debut.

Now, latest reports reveal that Nayanthara would be playing a key role in the film. Speculations are rife that she is expected to essay a pivotal role in the horror film's flashback portions. However, an official confirmation is awaited from the makers.

The cast also includes Ramachandra Raju, more popularly called Garuda Ram, and Anand Raj in a role reprisal. Both Garuda Ram and Anand Raj play negative roles in the film.

Kanchana 4's makers are yet to reveal any information about the film's plot. It is presented by Goldmines Telefilms' Manish Shah and Sun Pictures' Kalanithi Maran. Earlier, Raghava Lawrence revealed that he would use his remuneration for the film to turn his first house into a school.
