The first teaser of Vishal's upcoming film Magudam, opens with a shocking scene. The film then takes its viewers on a fever-induced trip to several action-packed scenes with the actor taking on multiple roles. A young man with a corporate job, a similar-aged gangster and a much-older assassin who can bring blood to breakfast within a snap of a finger. It is not known if Vishal plays three roles set across the same timeline or three different timelines.

The actor had stepped into direct Magudam last year after creative differences with Ravi Arasu, who was initially in charge of helming the project. The upcoming film marks Vishal's directorial debut and Ravi Arasu is now credited with the story for the movie. Anjali and Dushara Vijayan play the female leads, with the former showcasing her intense look in the teaser. Her blood-spattered face with sickle in her mouth promises a key role for her character in the narrative.

Jayaprakash, John Vijay, Ajay, Vamsi Krishna, Abu Salim, Arjai, Vj Jhansi, Padam Kumar, Sabhumon and others star in supporting roles.

Pon Parthiban is writing the dialogues for the film, along with Anandh Kumaresan writing the dialogues in Tamil, and Rajesh A Moorthy writing the dialogues in Telugu. The crew of the film includes NB Srikanth as the editor, and G Durairaj as the art director. Late director-producer RB Choudary's Super Good Films banner is backing the film.

Magudam is slated to hit theatres in July this year. Besides Tamil, the film will also release in Telugu as Makutam.
