For two days now, speculations have been rife that Rajinikanth's next, Jailer 2, is set to undergo a 25-day period of reshoot because the film's director, Nelson, is not happy with the result. While some have reported that the film is indeed set to go for a reshoot, some others have reported that the filmmaker is actually shooting a cameo appearance and not reshooting any portions that have already been completed.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan was said to play a very important cameo as a police officer in the film but couldn't take it up due to film commitments. Now, speculations are rife that Hrithik Roshan will be doing that cameo appearance instead. However, the makers have not confirmed the same. Meanwhile, an old interview of Hrithik to Filmfare, where he speaks about Rajinikanth, is now making the rounds on social media.
Hrithik Roshan shared the screen with Rajinikanth in the 1986 film Bhagwaan Dada as a child artist. Speaking about a popular photograph from the film's sets, where he is seen holding the Jailer star's beard, Hrithik said, "This is a photograph of a very ignorant, little, foolish boy who had no idea he was standing with the greatest legend of all time. For me, he was Rajini Uncle. Today, if I get a chance to work with him, I will be very different. I will realise the weight of sharing screen space with him."
Detailing his experience working with Rajinikanth with an anecdote, he added, "He was so gentle and caring. Whenever I messed up a shot, my grandfather used to cut the shot, and Rajini sir used to take the blame. He would say, "Sorry, my fault," but it was actually my fault. This happened every single time so that I, a child, would not get conscious."
With the reshoots speculated, Jailer 2, which was initially set for a June 12 release but later pushed to August, then September, is now expected for release only in October. Still, the makers are yet to officially announce the release date. Apart from Rajinikanth, the sequel also stars Ramya Krishnan, Mirnaa, Shivarajkumar, Mohanlal, Jatin Sarna, Mithun Chakraborty, Santhanam, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Vijay Sethupathi, Meghana Raj Sarja and Anna Rajan, among others.
