Actor Kasimedu Sathya, who has previously starred as a junior artist in Dhanush's Raayan, recently wrapped his portions in Rajinikanth's Jailer 2, helmed by Nelson. In a recent interview, he opened up about meeting Rajinikanth and how it felt to shoot a scene with the veteran.
"Rajinikanth sir is pure gold. Meeting him felt nothing short of meeting God in person. I got goosebumps the moment I saw him for the first time, and I was literally shivering with nervousness. I have been a die-hard fan of Rajini sir since childhood. I love his comic timing, his cuteness, his style—everything about him," he told Gem Cinemas.
On shooting with him, he added, "Seeing him in person, even from a little distance, felt magical. When he shook my hand and placed his arm around my shoulder during the shoot, my happiness knew no bounds. I even fell at his feet, and today, it remains one of the most beautiful memories of my life. While taking a photo with him, I told him how blessed I felt to have gotten the opportunity to act alongside him."
Jailer 2 will also see the return of Muthuvel Pandian's wife, played by Ramya Krishnan, and his daughter-in-law Mirnaa. The reprisal of Shivarajkumar's and Mohanlal's cameo appearances in the sequel has also been confirmed.
New names added to the ensemble this time around include Jatin Sarna, Mithun Chakraborty, Santhanam, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Vijay Sethupathi, Meghana Raj Sarja and Anna Rajan. There is also buzz about the appearance of Nora Fatehi in a dance number.
Plot details of the film are currently under wraps. Jailer 2 is produced by Kalanithi Maran under his Sun Pictures banner. On the technical front, the film has music by Anirudh. The first film's technical team members, such as cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan and editor R Nirmal, are also coming back for the sequel.
With shooting wrapped, a release date for the film is yet to be announced by the makers.
