Director Parthiban Ravi, an erstwhile assistant of director Gautham Vasudev Menon, who worked with him in films like Enai Noki Paayum Thota and Dhruva Natchathiram, recently opened up about the latter. The director, who recently directed the 'Naa Vera Level' song, spoke to CE about the song and also about what to expect from Dhruva Natchathiram.
Speaking about his experience working on the film, he said, "Working on Dhruva Natchathiram was an extraordinary experience. We travelled to many different countries and worked with line producers and crew members from those regions."
While he shared his delight for having gotten the opportunity to work with veteran actors, he particularly mentioned his experience with Vinayagan. "It goes without saying that working with an ensemble cast, including Radikaa Ma'am and Parthiban Sir, is a privilege. But more so, it was wonderful working with Vinayagan sir. He is like a method actor who was always in character, even after a shot concluded."
On what to expect from the Vikram-starrer, he added, "The film has a lot of luxurious aspects like helicopter shots and sky-diving. Even today, the film's trailer would seem at par with any Hollywood film's trailer. Manoj [Paramahamsa] sir, deserves the credit for the quality of the visuals."
Meanwhile, the long-delayed film continues to face legal hurdles. Recently a court verdict came in favour of the film's release by June 15. However, investors K Premkumar and K Punniyamoorthy challenged the Madras High Court order that had permitted the film's release, prompting a fresh round of hearings. After hearing arguments from both sides on June 2, a division bench comprising Justices V Lakshminarayanan and GR Swaminathan reserved its orders. With the verdict pending, the film remains in legal limbo, and its proposed release plans cannot move forward until the court delivers its final decision on the investors' appeal.
Dhruva Natchathiram also stars Ritu Varma, Simran, Vinayakan, Divya Dharshini, Munna Simon, Vamsi Krishna, Salim Baig, Sathish Krishnan, and Maya S Krishnan, among others. It has been a couple of years since the release of the trailer for the film. It remains to be seen whether the film will see the light of day later this year.
