Fans and film fraternity members have been singing praises of Dhanush ever since his production banner, Wunderbar Films, dropped the first single from his upcoming film Om on Tuesday, marking his birthday. Titled 'Alaakaa Loova' and described as a 'kuthu song,' it has the actor pulling off some challenging dance steps, including the so-called 'hook step'. It is reminiscent of the step that Nani pulls off in the 'Aaya Sher' song from his film, The Paradise.
Responding to the song, Dhanush's actor-filmmaker brother Selvaraghavan shared, "OMG ! #OM " single tharu maaru ! Kizhio kizhi ! Bro @dhanushkraja bro what a mass you are !!!! And @SaiAbhyankkar you are rocking baby ! And you will rock for a long long time. !"
'Alaakaa Loova' has composition and vocals by Sai Abhyankkar, alongside additional vocals by Francis and Kataaka Choral Ensemble. It also has lyrics penned by Rokesh and dance choreography by Sandy Master. At one point, Mammootty also appears in the lyrical video. The song offers a first full look at the legendary actor's character in the film, which marks his comeback to Tamil cinema after 2019's Peranbu.
The buzz among fans is that Mammootty also dances with Dhanush in the song and that we will get to see this when the makers release the full video. It is worth noting that Mammootty is not really known for his dancing skills, something which he himself has admitted candidly in interviews. However, fans expect the two to put the dance floor on fire when the film releases in theatres.
The film is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy of Amaran fame. It also has actors Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela and is slated for an October 16 release in theatres.
