Debut director Subash K Raj is currently basking in the success of his recent hit Blast, starring Arjun, Abhirami and Preity Mukhundhan in lead roles. The actioner, which hit theatres on May 28, was a massive commercial hit, earning nearly Rs 75 crore worldwide, a massive feat for a debutant. Besides the positive reception for its theatrical run, the film was also met with critical acclaim when it released on OTT recently.

Following the film's blockbuster outing, speculations were rife about Subash collaborating with actor Vikram for his sophomore directorial venture. A few reports also claimed that Vikram was the first choice for the filmmaker for Blast before Arjun came on board.

Dismissing these claims, Subash, in an exclusive conversation with Cinema Express, clarified, "All the reports that you are seeing on social media are false. Even I am surprised by these claims." He further revealed that the writing process for his next film has begun and would reach out to actors after he finishes the script.

Blast marked Subash's debut outing on the big screen. He was an erstwhile associate to Pradeep Ranganathan before making his first feature film. The story of Blast follows a family of fighters who are embroiled in a larger conspiracy and are forced to go up against a crime syndicate in a fight for survival. The film's cast also includes Vivek Prasanna, John Kokken, Arjun Chidambaram, Pawan, and Dileepan, among others.

Meanwhile, AGS Entertainment, which backed Subash's Blast, has confirmed that they will once again work with him for another project. But details on it remain unknown at the moment.
