Earlier, we reported about Suriya praising director Aditya Dhar's blockbuster film Dhurandhar. In his tweet, Suriya called the film a "masterpiece" and a "very deserving blockbuster". In response, the filmmaker expressed his gratitude to Suriya for the lavish praise. "Your love and encouragement mean everything to us. Deeply honoured and inspired. Much love and respect to you and ma'am," Aditya wrote, referring to Suriya and his actor wife Jyotika. In his Dhurandhar movie review, Suriya had also appreciated R Madhavan's transformation as Intelligence Bureau (IB) director Ajay Sanyal. "Wow Brother, this means the world to me coming from you and Jo. How gracious large hearted and sweet of you. All the love right back at you brother can’t wait to see your movies coming up. God bless you and thank God for you both," Madhavan wrote in response to Suriya.

On the other hand, Jio Studios, which produced the film through Aditya and Lokesh Dhar's B62 Studios banner, also responded to Suriya's appreciation of the movie. Jio Studios wrote, "The magic of Dhurandhar is only complete with love like this. Thank you!"

This is not the first time Suriya has publicly expressed his admiration for an Aditya Dhar film. Earlier, he shared his appreciation for Aditya's Uri: The Surgical Strike, starring Vicky Kaushal.

The actor's praise comes at a time when the Ranveer Singh starrer continues its successful box-office run. As of writing this, the film has earned a net collection of 756.33 crore from theatres in India, according to Sacnilk data. As of January 02, Friday, it earned 1167.25 crore at the global box office. The film has been in theatres for 30 days now, which in itself is rarity in a day and age where most films get their OTT release dates by the time they complete a couple of weeks.
