Dhurandhar Movie Review: Ranveer Singh’s spy/gangster drama crackles, ignites but never takes off

Director Aditya Dhar is yet to respond to Suriya for his glowing Dhurandhar movie review. Interestingly, the two had shared mutual admiration for each other's work through social media. Some years ago, Suriya praised Aditya's Uri: The Surgical Strike, starring Vicky Kaushal. At the time, Aditya responded to the actor for his appreciation of Uri by saying, "It's truly an honour to receive such a wonderful message from you. Truly a fanboy moment for me!!"

Back then, Aditya also shared the Soorarai Pottru trailer, called it "fantastic," and expressed his best wishes to Suriya's film. "Two of my favourite actors together, Suriya and Paresh Rawal!!" Aditya wrote at that time.

Dhurandhar has become the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025, with a gross collection of over 1100 crore, according to multiple reports. The film follows a spy (Ranveer) who looks to infiltrate a network of gangsters and terrorists in Pakistan.

There has been much discourse around the film's political aspects even as it continues its march ahead at the global box office.
