Actor Shanthnu has received a recognition for his performance in 2024's cricket-based drama Blue Star, directed by S Jayakumar. He won best actor for it at last year's Australian Tamil International Film Festival. Now, he received a nomination for best supporting actor for it at the Filmfare Awards South. While Karthi took home the honours for his performance in Meiyazhagan, Shanthnu expressed his pride in being nominated for it.

Earlier this Sunday, the actor took to social media and wrote, "After my first ever Filmfare Award back in 2008, 17 years is a long time to keep walking when the road keeps testing your feet. There were moments when the silence felt louder than applause, when effort seemed invisible, Yet, the dream stayed. Quiet. Stubborn. Alive. Everyday I chose to continue anyway. The journey hasn’t been easy, but it has been honest."

Shanthnu also expressed his feelings after receiving a nomination for Blue Star at the 2026 Filmfare Awards. "Being nominated for Blue Star, getting on that list itself now after all these years reminds me that time doesn’t cancel dreams, it refines them. It keeps my hopes breathing, steady and strong, telling me that perseverance has its own rhythm and it will always finds its moment."

Blue Star follows a longstanding cricket rivalry between two teams at a village in Arakkonam. Shanthnu stars in the film as the captain of one of the two teams, the other leader being Ashok Selvan's character.

The actor ended his note on a positive note, expressing a sense of gratitude for his journey so far and hope for his future career. "Win or Not… always Grateful. Humbled. Still dreaming," he signed off.

Shanthnu will next be seen in The Madras Mystery: Fall of a Superstar, where he stars alongside Nazriya Nazim, and Magenta with Anjali Nair.
