Even as Awarapan 2 team continues to celebrate their film’s box office success, there is an unfortunate news for all Emraan Hashmi fans as the actor has now reportedly tested positive for swine flu (H1N1).
As per India Today, the report arrives within days of the actor attending a special screening of their film, where Emraan also interacted with the fans. Reportedly, the actor had not been feeling well for the past few days, even though he continued to travel around the country to promote Awarapan 2, including a trip to Ranchi.
It is to be noted that Emraan Hashmi had recently surprised his fans at a Mumbai screening of Awarapan 2, where he arrived alongside his co-star Disha Patani. On the occasion, the actor duo interacted with the fans and graciously accepted the thunderous response to the film. Emraan also vaguely hinted at plans of Awarapan 3 in the offing, saying, “ “Umeed yahi hai ki aapko puri film pasand aayegi. Hopefully, Awarapan 3 very soon (We hope you enjoy the entire film, and hopefully).”
On the other hand, Awarapan 2 entered the Rs 200 crore club at global box office earlier this week. Among the highest grossing Hindi films' list of 2026, the Awarapan sequel is now behind 4 films — Dhurandhar 2, Border 2, Bhooth Bangla, and Dhamaal 4.
Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Films, Awarapan 2 also starred Shabana Azmi, Suvinder Vicky, Vijayant Kohli and Puran Gabbi in the lead cast.
Meanwhile, Emraan is also gearing up for his next big release Gunmaaster G9, that is scheduled to arrive in theatres on September 25. The first teaser of the film was unveiled earlier this week.
