Actor Sasikumar, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film My Lord, directed by Raju Murugan, has shared that he is totally against the idea of promoting films in colleges and other educational institutions.
During a promotional event of the film, Sasikumar shared, "Colleges are meant for education and education alone. I don't believe in doing college visits for my film promotions unless the producer insists me. Even as a promotion strategy, I don't feel this works. Students come to see actors speaking, that doesn't ensure success of the film. A film can only succeed with quality content and positive word-of-mouth."
My Lord, according to the film's trailer, is about Muthusirpi (Sasikumar) who and his wife are victims of kidney racket is fighting for justice. Though alive, he has been declared dead on record, how will Muthusirpi fight the system hailing from a humble background will be known upon release.
The film, which is releasing on February 13, also stars Chaithra J Achar as the female lead, marking her second Tamil film after 3BHK, which released last year. The cast of the film also includes Asha Sharath, Guru Somasundaram, Jayaprakash, Gopi Nainar, and Vasumithra.
Raju Murugan is known for directing films like Cuckoo (2014) and Joker (2020). He has also served as the lyricist for the film along with Yugabharathi, Athipatti K Mariyappan, Dinesh Rajendran (Rap). The technical crew of My Lord includes Nirav Shah as the director of photography, Sathyaraj Natarajan as the editor, Muni Paulraj as the art director, and PC Stunts as the stunt choreographers. Jayanthi Ambethkumar is producing the film. Olympia Films are the banners backing the film.
