Ever since Jana Nayagan was leaked online, it has come as a shock to fans and film enthusiasts alike. In response, a strong wave of support has poured in for the makers, while also bringing the darker realities of piracy back into focus. Several noted actors have condemned the practice, urging audiences to respect the effort behind filmmaking.

Director Vignesh Raja, who is currently awaiting the release of Kara, described the situation as both “painful” and “scary.” He highlighted how distressing it is to witness such incidents, especially at a crucial time when his own film is gearing up for its theatrical release.

Speaking to Sudhir Srinivasan in a recent interview, the Por Thozhil filmmaker said, "It was unfortunate, painful, and scary. Once we heard the news that Jana Nayagan had been leaked, we removed all the Kara footages we had stored on Google Drives. You have to trust people. You can’t do everything yourself. At some point, you have to delegate and ensure that everyone understands their responsibilities."

He also underlined the need for makers to be careful of such incidents and hoped that people understand the effort behind making such grand films, and are true to their conscience. "If you have to watch it or not, you have to pay a price which is the price of the ticket. I am sure that whenever the film opens in theatres, people will come and watch it," he added.
