We had reported on October last year that actor Madhavan and Nimisha Sajayan would headline Netflix's upcoming series Legacy. The makers have shared an update that Ilaiyaraaja worked on the series' original background score.

The official logline of the series reads, "an ageing patriarch of a powerful crime family races against time to anoint a successor to protect his mighty empire from an inevitable siege. He will have to fight to save the family, his empire and most importantly - his legacy."

Legacy marks Madhavan's third collaboration with the streamer after the 2021 series Decoupled and the 2023 series The Railway Men, which was about the railway workers who saved several lives during the deadly Bhopal gas tragedy. Madhavan's upcoming projects include Dhurandhar: The Revenge, G.D.N and Adhirshtasaali.

Legacy, created by Charukesh Sekar, is produced by Kalyan Subramanian of Stone Bench Pvt Ltd. The series also stars Gautham Karthik, Gulshan Devaiah, Abhishek Banerjee, Swaswika, Kaali Venkat, Harish Uthaman, and Ramesh Thilak.
