Shamna Kkasim has been receiving outpouring praise from audiences and critics for her electrifying performance in Jailer 2's latest number 'Ala Bolelo' which has already surpassed seven million views on YouTube. For the actor-dancer, this opportunity, she reveals, was a long gestating dream come true. Sharing her gratitude on her social media handles, Shamna thanked director Nelson and the audiences for making one of her "biggest dreams come true."
"From my childhood, dance has been everything to me. It was always my biggest dream to become a dance teacher, and today, here in Dubai, I’m blessed to see that dream come true. My husband believed in my dream and made it a reality," she wrote, adding that she always dreamed of performing with a "superhero." "I never imagined that one day I would get the opportunity to perform in a Rajinikanth sir movie," she noted.
Shamna further added, "Thank you so much, Nelson sir, for making one of my biggest dreams come true and for all the appreciation, love, and encouragement you’ve shown towards my dance. And above all, I have to say that this journey is also because of my mom’s hard work, sacrifices, and endless support. Everything I am today is because of her." She also described being part of the song as "one of the most special moments" of her life.
Composed and sung by Anirudh Ravichander, ‘Ala Bolelo’ comes with lyrics by Arunraja Kamaraj and additional vocals by Niranjana Raman, Aparna Harikumar and Deepthi Suresh. The four-minute lyrical video takes a Kerala-inspired route, with Shamna performing in a traditional kasavu saree. Rajinikanth appears briefly towards the latter part of the song, acknowledging the dance performance.
Apart from Rajinikanth and Ramya Krishnan, who reprise their roles as Muthuvel Pandian and Vijaya Pandian, Jailer 2 brings back Yogi Babu, Mirnaa and Rithvik. Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Jackie Shroff, who made cameo appearances in the first film, are also expected to feature in the sequel. SJ Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Anna Rajan and Jatin Sarna are among the new additions. Hrithik Roshan and Vijay Sethupathi are also set to make cameo appearances.
Jailer 2 follows the success of the 2023 action comedy, which revolved around retired jailer Muthuvel Pandian returning to his old ways to protect his family. The sequel is expected to continue from the events of the first film. Jailer 2 is scheduled to release worldwide on October 15.
