

The buzz surrounding Rajinikanth's Dharman with director Ashwath Marimuthu continues to grow as the film is currently in its second schedule of filming. Amidst this, speculations are rife about the addition of Telugu star Ram Pothineni to the cast. Reports circulating on the internet state that the Andhra King Taluka actor has been cast as Rajinikanth's son-in-law and the key antagonist in the actioner. However, a confirmation on this is awaited. If the rumours turn out to be true, this will be Ram Pothineni's first Tamil project.
Dharman went on floors on June 25 and is being backed by Kamal Haasan under his RKFI banner. It stars Simran as the female lead, reuniting with Rajinikanth after Petta (2019) and Kamal Haasan after Panchathanthiram (2002) and Pammal K Sambandam (2002). Raashii Khanna is also part of the cast of the cast. Plot details have been kept under wraps for now. However, Ashwath dismissed rumours of the film being a remake of the Netflix series The Good Doctor.
There are also reports about Mysskin and Rukmini Vasanth being part of the cast which remains unconfirmed till date.
On the technical team, Dharman has Anirudh as the music composer, Niketh Bommi as the cinematographer and Pradeep E Ragav handling the cuts. Noted action choreographer duo Anbariv are also part of the project.
Ram Pothineni is known for his roles in Devadasu (2006), Ready (2008), Maska (2009), Kandireega (2011), Pandaga Chesko (2015), Nenu Sailaja (2016), Hello Guru Prema Kosame (2018) and iSmart Shankar (2019), among others. He was last seen in Andhra King Taluka and is currently working on his untitled directorial debut RAPO23.
