Suriya-starrer Vishwanath and Sons has crossed the Rs 120 crore mark worldwide in just four days. The Venky Atluri directorial witnessed the expected drop in collections on its first Monday but continued to post strong numbers after a successful opening weekend.

According to trade estimates, Vishwanath and Sons collected Rs 8.66 crore gross in India on Monday, taking its four-day India gross to Rs 75.88 crore. The film's India net collection currently stands at Rs 65.65 crore. With an overseas gross of Rs 45 crore, the film's worldwide gross has reached Rs 120.88 crore.

The film recorded a 27.9 percent occupancy across 4,962 shows on Monday. While this marks a significant drop from Sunday's 53.2 percent occupancy, the film's Monday gross remains substantial considering the sharp correction that usually follows an opening weekend.

Among the domestic markets, Karnataka continues to be the film's strongest contributor, with a total gross of Rs 30.50 crore, while Tamil Nadu is close behind at Rs 30 crore. Kerala has contributed Rs 8.85 crore, with the rest of India accounting for Rs 6.53 crore.

The film had opened with Rs 17.74 crore on Friday before witnessing a significant jump to Rs 25.72 crore on Saturday. It followed that up with Rs 23.75 crore on Sunday, taking its opening weekend India gross to over Rs 67 crore. Monday's Rs 8.66 crore takes the film's four-day total to Rs 75.88 crore. The strong overseas performance has also been a major contributor to the film's worldwide tally, with international markets accounting for Rs 45 crore so far.

Vishwanath and Sons follows Sanjay Vishwanath (Suriya), a competitive pistol shooter whose life takes an unexpected turn after his son is diagnosed with a serious health condition, prompting him to reconnect with Maddy (Mamitha Baiju), his child's surrogate mother.

In our CE review of the film, we had written, "Vishwanath and Sons could have been a poignant exploration of the age gap in romance and whether logic and reason should be questioned in matters of the heart. However, despite tackling themes like surrogacy, casual dating, sexual desires, falling in and out of love, and of course, the age gap, Vishwanath and Sons decides to become a Dharma Productions film of yore, and espouse the importance of ‘family.’"

Besides Suriya and Mamitha Baiju, the film also stars Radikaa Sarathkumar, Rajiv Menon, Raveena Tandon, Nasser, Sudha, Raghu Babu, Sunil Reddy, Bhavani Sre, Viva Harsha, Kaali Venkat, George Maryan, Hyper Aadhi, Sreeja Ravi, Sarvadaman Banerjee, Mathew Varghese, Kalyani Natarajan, Karate Karthik, and Master Charvik. The film has music composed by GV Prakash Kumar, cinematography handled by Nimish Ravi and editing by Naveen Nooli.
