One of the first reviews for Suriya's Vishwanath and Sons came from none other than his own brother, actor Karthi. On Friday, even as the film opened in theatres, Karthi penned a note on what he experienced while watching the film, particularly praising the film's director Venky Atluri and lead cast, Mamitha Baiju, Radikaa Sarathkumar and Suriya.

The official synopsis of Vishwanath and Sons reads, "In this Tamil-language romantic drama, a former Olympic shooter becomes emotionally entangled with the surrogate mother of his child when the infant falls ill."

Sharing a poster of the film, Karthi wrote on X, "#VenkyAtluri what writing man…!! Beautiful characters and stunning performances!! A wholesome film that keeps you smiling throughout and fills your heart with love!! Would love to watch it again….Many Congratulations Vamsi for #VishwanathAndSons!! Suriya, you're Class Apart pa just wow!! Mamitha, you were so full of life.. superb Radikaa, what an endearing performance." (sic)

The film also stars Raveena Tandon, in her first Tamil film in about 25 years after her previous appearance in the Kamal Haasan starrer Aalavandhan (2001). The rest of the cast includes Nasser, Sudha, Raghu Babu, Sunil Reddy, Bhavani Sri, Viva Harsha, Kaali Venkat, George Maryan, Hyper Aadhi, Srija Ravi, Sarvadaman Banerjee, Mathew Varghese, Kalyani Natarajan, Karate Karthik, and Master Charvik, among others.

Vishwanath and Sons is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, respectively. It is presented by Srikara Studios. Apart from GV Prakash, its technical team includes cinematographer Nimish Ravi, editor Navin Nooli, and production designer Banglan. The film is currently playing in theatres.
