As reported earlier, actor-turned-politician Vijay paid a visit to the Sai Baba temple in Shirdi on Wednesday. As his pilgrimage was expected, videos of the Jana Nayagan actor leaving his Neelankarai home in the morning, reaching the Chennai airport to take the flight, and landing at the Shirdi International Airport have been making the rounds since the morning.

His visit to Shirdi comes after his unannounced visit to Tiruchendur to offer his prayers at the Subramania Swamy Temple in Thoothukudi. As per reports, the actor is on a pilgrimage tour ahead of the election results, scheduled for Monday, May 4.

At the Sai Baba temple in Shirdi, Vijay was seen prostrating himself in front of the spiritual master's shrine in a video, now being shared across social media. The TVK leader is then seen receiving prasad from the priest at the shrine. The video shows him with a bowed head for nearly 10 seconds before he makes a move on receiving the offering.

During his visit to the Tiruchendur temple, the authorities honoured him with a shawl and a small 'Vel', symbolic of the divine spear used by the Hindu deity. He was also given the 'kumba mariyathai', with heavy police managing the excited throngs chanting his name and party slogans.

Vijay has been visiting numerous religious shrines throughout his electoral campaign. The actor visited St Antony's Church on Wireless Road a few days ago while on campaign in Trichy. There, he lit a light, prayed, and did a kneel-walk. He later visited the Noorul Hudah Mosque in KK Nagar, where he was greeted by officials and given a shawl. He prayed at the Kottapattu Pachanachi Amman Temple before departing for Chennai.

Vijay ran from two constituencies in his first elections: Perambur and Trichy East. This is an uncommon accomplishment for a politician, particularly one making his debut. All eyes are on Vijay and TVK, who are anticipated to secure sizable vote shares and a sizable number of seats, since the election results are scheduled to be revealed on May 4.

On the film front, the actor is awaiting the release of Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth, which is embroiled in controversies and legal hurdles, with the censor board yet to grant a clearance for the film.
