Actor Vijay recently faced the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections for the first time as the leader of the Tamillaga Vetri Kazhagam party and the chief minister candidate from that front. Support for the actor-turned-poltician on social media, from the general public and fellow actors, was massive.
On Friday, screenshots of what was said to be the Instagram story of Divya Saasha, the daughter of Vijay, were being shared widely on social media. The story featured a video of actor Vijay along with the 'Chella Magale' song from Jana Nayagan.
As the screenshots circulated, questions arose over whether the account truly belonged to Divya Saasha or was a fake. Initial searches showed the handle ‘d.shash’ as a private account, with the name listed as 'Divya Shasha'—a spelling that differs from her usual name. The account has now disappeared altogether, with Instagram showing “User Not Found", indicating it was likely a fake account.
Vijay has a son, Jason Sanjay, and a daughter, Divya Saasha, from his marriage with Sankgeetha. Vijay even shared the screen with Divya in Atlee's 2016 directorial, Theri, in which she portrayed the grown-up version of baby Nainika.
This is the second time Vijay and Divya Saasha are forming headlines in recent times. Just a few months ago, when Vijay's Jana Nayagan was reportedly facing setbacks for its OTT deal, videos of Vijay's absence at Divya Saasha's graduation went viral and sparked debates online. Divya completed her studies at the well-known American International School in Chennai back in 2023, and a convocation was held where her brother Jason Sanjar was present. Netizens discussed Vijay's absence and Sankgeetha's presence as their divorce case was also making the rounds around the same time.
On the work front, Vijay is currently awaiting the release of his final film, Jana Nayagan. Helmed by H Vinoth, the film also stars Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Bobby Deol, and Priyamani, among others. After censorship delays and the film's piracy, the film is yet to see the light of day.
